01. 지루한 삶의 전환점 홍콩

 

If you are bored with your work and routine in life, then Hong Kong can provide a cure.

 - be bored with = get bored with: 지루해[따분해] 하다

 - provide a cure: 치유하다, 치료하다

 

It is only a three-hour flight from Korea, but it can awaken your senses.

 - awaken: 감정을 불러일으키다, 잠에서 깨다

 cf. awaken (sb) to sth: ...을 (...에게) 일깨우다, ...을 깨닫다

 

One of the most spectacular places is the Peak Tower. It is located on a peak at 396 meters above sea level.

 - be located in/at/on: ...에 위치해 있다

 - above sea level (ASL): 해발고도

 

Visitors from all over the world ride the Peak Tram to go up there.

 - tram = tramcar, streetcar, trolley: 전차

 

During the short journey in the tram, passengers are amazed by the high-rise buildings along the hillsides.

With its avant-garde design, the tower is probably the most stylish piece of architecture in Hong Kong.

In addition, there is a scenic walking trail at the Peak.

No wonder we can find scenes of Hong Kong from the top of the peak in thousands of postcards and pictures around the world.
